Pork Chops with Country Gravy

Ingredients

  • ¾ tsp salt, divided
  • 4 boneless center cup pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tsp butter
  • 2⅔ cups milk
  • 6 TBSP flour
  • ½ tsp poultry seasoning
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tsp Tony Chacheres creole seasoning.

Instructions

  • Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium high heat.  Sprinkle half the salt over both sides of pork.  Add butter to pan, stirring until melted.  Add the pork to pan and cook pork for 3 minutes on each side.  Remove pork from pan and keep warm. Combine low fat milk and flour, stirring with a whisk.  Add the milk mixture to pan, stirring with a whisk.  Stir in remaining salt, poultry seasoning, black pepper and creole seasoning. Return pork to pan.  Cover; reduce heat, and simmer for 7 minutes or until gravy is thick and pork is done. Best served with mashed potatoes.
